Trikes For Life Excursions operates along the North Shore of Lake Superior in Northeastern Minnesota. We are extremely unique because of the combination of what we do and the equipment we use.
The (re)discovery of Trikes
Kathy and I (Bob) happened somewhat by chance to discover the Hase delta recumbent trikes about six years ago. Prior to that time, we didn't even know that those funny looking 2-wheeled bikes were even called "recumbents". Enter, by fate, the delta (two wheels in back) recumbent trikes into our lives ...and there was just no looking back.
For those of you new to the delta design trikes, they do go fast, but more importantly they can go really slow as well and are as agile as a cat. And Guess What?, you can be COMFORTABLE while pedaling. No, that is not a mis-print. Not only are they comfortable to ride (unlike a bike ) but you actually can pay attention to the world you are riding through because your upper body is correctly positioned to allow you to see and enjoy the ride. You are not looking down at the pavement as you often (always) do on a bike. How weird is that? Instant smiles...instant joy!
What we do
We provide fully guided, fully equipped, family and small group excursions using what may be the best delta recumbent tricycles on the market. We also have a selection of bikes to fill out the fleet. We cater to groups and families of up
to seven with the heart of the fleet being our four delta recumbent trikes, a mini trike that pulls tandem, and a trailer for the very littlest family riders.
Riders of all ages and ability levels love these trikes. They go fast...they go very slow... You choose..
We only host one excursion a day which enables us to highly personalize what we provide for your group.
You set the time you want to start out on your Excursion - not us.
We then provide you with more choices of things to do along the trike/bike route than can possibly be done in one day. It's our job to help you decide what to do along the way that meets with your particular interests and desires. No two groups have ever done the same exact excursion. Your group will also be unique.
The van/trike trailer and guide (me) go with you the entire way to ensure that all needs are met, all stops along the way, and all side routes for the trikes and bikes are not missed, especially the secret spots!
